VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. If they could, they would have stopped the offering

"If it could, would they not have stopped being offered?"

Hebrews 9:13-14 (Amplified Bible)

9:13 For if [the mere] sprinkling of unholy and defiled persons with blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a burnt heifer is sufficient for the purification of the body,

9:14 How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God?

They knew they have to do it over and over again but without forgiveness, all is left is remembrance and memories of their sins.

Hebrews 10:3-4 (Amplified Bible)

10:3 But [as it is] these sacrifices annually bring a fresh remembrance of sins [to be atoned for],

10:4 Because the blood of bulls and goats is powerless to take sins away.

B. If they have been cleansed once for all, they are no longer guilty for their sins

"For the worshippers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins."

Hebrews 10:17 (Amplified Bible)

10:17 He then goes on to say, And their sins and their lawbreaking I will remember no more.

Psalms 103:12 (Amplified Bible)

103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Isaiah 43:25 (Amplified Bible)

43:25 I, even I, am He Who blots out and cancels your transgressions, for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

Isaiah 44:22 (Amplified Bible)

44:22 I have blotted out like a thick cloud your transgressions, and like a cloud your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.

Micah 7:19 (Amplified Bible)

7:19 He will again have compassion on us; He will subdue and tread underfoot our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.

We are cleansed once and for all because of the broken body and blood of JESUS shed on the cross of calvary, now all we have is remembrance of JESUS and offerings/sacrifices are no longer needed because sins have been cancelled, guilt of sin removed and the punishment that goes with the sin. We focus on JESUS.

Hebrews 12:2 (Amplified Bible)

12:2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Isaiah 45:22 (Amplified Bible)

45:22 Look to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Thank You very much LORD JESUS, for Your body and blood stopped the sacrifices and offerings forever, for once and for all, You have removed and cancelled sin, removed it's guilt and removed the punishment that goes with it. No longer will I be required to suffer but in this world, I am Your Living Sacrifice.
