If Jesus Lived Today—would You Know Him?

IF JESUS LIVED TODAY—WOULD YOU KNOW HIM?

John 1:10

INTRO: As we just read in the Bible, Jesus was in the world and the world knew Him not. The question is, if Jesus were living in our world today, would we know Him? or would we be as the people in His day?

Today, we want to examine our world and see if we would know Jesus.

I. JESUS WAS REJECTED BY HIS OWN PEOPLE.

A. When Jesus came into the world, His own rejected Him.

1. They didn’t want to give up their worldliness.

2. They were expecting Him to set up and earthly kingdom then.

B. People today reject Jesus for the same reasons.

C. If Jesus came today to set up an earthly kingdom, do you think

He would have any followers?

II. JESUS TURNED TO THE GENTILES AND THEY REJECTED HIM ALSO.

A. After being rejected by the Jews, Jesus gave the commission to

the Gentiles.

B. The Gentiles rejected Him also.

C. Today, we are doing the same thing.

III. GOD’S FIRST LIVING CREATION HASN’T CHANGED.

A. God created the living things of the sea, and the earth before

He created man.

B. They haven’t changed.

C. Man has changed.

IV. JESUS WILL ACCEPT ALL WHO RECEIVE HIM.

A. The plan of salvation is for all.

B. Unless we receive Him, we are rejecting Him as the world has

done since creation.

C. Time in which to receive Him is getting short.

1. Jesus is coming back to establish the earthly kingdom.

2. Receive Him today, and you can be a part of that

kingdom.
