Mark 10:46-52 New Man in a New Suit
One day a Christian and a Communist were sitting on a park bench watching the world go by. As they watched, a poor, drunken beggar walked by dressed in rags. The Communist pointed to the beggar and said, "Communism would put a new suit on that man!" To which the Christian responded, "Maybe so, but Jesus Christ can put a new man in that suit."
1. The blind beggar wanted to be a New Man in a New Suit because of his Pitiful Condition
46Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus),
A. His condition was blindness He was born that way
Blindness was common in Biblical Days due to various diseases and poor sanitary conditions
B. He wanted to be New Man because the current Man had to be A Beggar
,vs. 46 Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by the roadside begging
Blindness prevented him from having a job
Blindness cause him to be totally dependent on generosity of others
2. Blind Bartimaeus wanted to be a New Man with a New Suit because the Current suit caused him much suffering
A. Blind Bartimaeus Recognized who Jesus was .
Vs. 47When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth,
B. Blind Bartimaeus Realized what Jesus could do
Vs. 48 , he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
This might be the greatest opportunity for Blind Bartimaeus
He realized Jesus may never pass by this way ever again. He said I am not going to blow it48Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!

3. Blind Bartimaeus wanted to be a new man with a new suit but it would cost him his Old Suit
49Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you." 50Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
A. One May have to Give Up Stuff
4. Blind Bartimeus told Jesus he wanted to be That New Man In that New Suit with a New Cure
51"What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."
A. Jesus is calling you and I to be, that new person in that new Suit
49Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you."
B. Jesus is inviting us to Come to him to be suited with that new Suit
vs. 50 he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
5. Blind Bartimaeus now is a new man with a new suit and with a New Course in Life
52"Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
A. Bartimaeus wanted to be near the one who gave him a new suit
B. He wanted to do the things that God desires
C. he once followed the ways of the ruler of the air but now he follows the King of Kings
D. He once craved the sinful nature now he craves the ways of holiness
E. He once was dead in transgressions but now He is Alive in Christ Jesus
F. He once followed a wayward crooked path but now straight is the gate and narrow is my way
