I Still Believe In The Good Way

I STILL BELIEVE IN THE GOOD WAY

JEREMIAH 6:16-17 KJV

INTRODUCTION

In this day and age in which we live in, people everywhere are looking for some other way to…..get around there taxes, paying there tithes, speaking the truth in love, being honest, being pure, and many others.

The Bible separates the believers from all these ways of trying to, to being, it says…”there is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12)

Try all we may, we must still understand, our ways are not the Lord’s ways, and our way’s all come up short of the glory of God.

The word (way here is Proverbs) means to have a course of life….

I ask you today, which way is the course of your life going, who is blowing the wind in your sails, and allowing you to go in the direction you are going?

Allow me a few minutes to look in the Word of God to find THEE WAY.

1. STAND…….Vv 16

The Bible says….

A…. Stand still and see the Salvation of the Lord…..Ex. 14:13

B…. Stand fast in the Faith…..I Cor. 16:13

C…. Stand fast in the Liberty…..Gal.5:1

D…. Stand fast in One Spirit…..Phil.1:27

E…. Stand fast in the Lord…..Phil. 4:1

F…. Stand fast and hold Traditions…..II Thess 2:15

Remember the story of the Three (3) Hebrew children, we can see that they took the stand of all these verse above in the mist of thee most trying time of there lives.

And God Delivered.

A…. They knew they were Saved

B…. They knew they had Faith

C…. They knew they were at Liberty to worship

D…. They knew they were in the Spirit of the Lord

E…. They knew they were holding on to the traditions of there faith

F…. They knew they could die, but they believed in the old way

I, LIKE THEM STILL BELIEVE

2. SEE…….Vv.16

The word (see) has seven (7) different meanings in the Word of God.

1. To know

2. To look for

3. To look toward

4. To experience

5. To enter into

6. To recognize

7. To understand

~I like the one that said to (experience)

**What are we to experience?.....The old paths?…..The good way?

**In this passage they said “we will not walk therein”, “we will not hearken”

**They think, there ways are better then the ways of the Lord.

This way of thinking sounds like a teenager don’t it, they know it all at the age of 13.

The Bible says “the ways of a transgressor is hard” (Proverbs 13:15)

Those that have the (experience) or can “SEE” will find the rest that is in this verse.

**Which do you prefer? Your way (the hard way), or the (good way) of the Lord?

I STILL BELIEVE

3. ASK…….Vv. 16

This is a great word to use here…..it means to have inquiry, to seek counsel, making a demand, making a request, begging, and praying.

Turn with me in the Bible to Matthew 7:-11, it says…

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

** In these five (5) verses we find the word (ASK) being used five (5)times.

** I can say beyond a doubt, that Matthew is trying to get his point across to us about

(asking).

**It is clearly the delight of the Lord for us to ask, and then to receive of Him…Vv. 8

The word ask broken down here in this verse

A is for asking

S is for seeking

K is for knocking

Which make up the context of verse 7.

I’m just dumb enough to believe the Lord.

Closing

Let us all see, the way for us to choose is the way of the Lord, no one wants to have the evil come upon them that is found in verse 19, it says….

Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

Read Jeremiah 6 16-17
