Introduction

Good morning, family! I am so thrilled to welcome you all to this blessed gathering. Today, we'll be diving deep into the book of Matthew, chapter 9, verses 9-13. We're going to explore three powerful truths: The Power of Jesus to Heal, The Faith of the Paralyzed Man, and The Authority of Jesus to Forgive Sins.

Our beloved brother in Christ, C.S. Lewis once said, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”

I. The Power of Jesus to Heal

The Power of Jesus to Heal is a central theme in the New Testament, and it is beautifully illustrated in Matthew 9:9-13. The power of Jesus to heal is not just physical, but also spiritual and emotional. It is a power that transcends the natural laws of the universe and brings about a supernatural transformation in the lives of individuals.

In the passage, we see Jesus healing a paralyzed man, not just physically but also spiritually. The man was brought to Jesus by his friends, who believed in the healing power of Jesus. They had faith that Jesus could heal their friend. The faith of these men is commendable, but what is more remarkable is the power of Jesus to heal. He did not just heal the man's physical paralysis, but also his spiritual paralysis. He said to the man, "Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven."

A. This statement shows us that Jesus saw the man's greatest need was not physical healing, but spiritual healing. He saw that the man was paralyzed by his sins, and he needed forgiveness more than he needed physical healing. This is the power of Jesus to heal. He heals us not just physically, but also spiritually. He sees our greatest need and meets it.

B. The power of Jesus to heal is also seen in the way he healed the man. He did not use any medical instruments or drugs. He simply spoke a word, and the man was healed. This shows us that the power of Jesus to heal is not dependent on human effort or resources. It is a divine power that comes from God alone.

C. Furthermore, the power of Jesus to heal is not limited by time or space. In the passage, Jesus healed the man instantly. He did not need to wait for a certain time or go to a certain place. He simply spoke a word, and the man was healed. This shows us that the power of Jesus to heal is always available to us, no matter where we are or what time it is.

D. The power of Jesus to heal is also inclusive. In the passage, Jesus healed a man who was paralyzed. In other passages, he healed people with various diseases and conditions. This shows us that the power of Jesus to heal is not limited to certain people or certain conditions. It is available to all who believe in him.

II. The Faith of the Paralyzed Man

The Faith of the Paralyzed Man is a profound narrative that teaches us about the transformative power of faith ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
