God's love for us is unshakeable, unstoppable, and unconditional, and nothing in all creation can separate us from His love.

Introduction

Good morning, family. Today we're going to dive deep into a truth that we all need to be reminded of, time and again - God's love for us is unshakeable, unstoppable, and unconditional. It's a love that is always there, even when we feel undeserving or distant from it.

As A.W. Tozer once penned, "God's love is measureless. It is more: it is boundless. It has no bounds because it is not a thing but a facet of the essential nature of God."

Let's take a look at Romans 8:35-39:

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, 'For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.' No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Let's bow our heads and open our hearts in prayer.

Dear Lord, we thank You for Your unfailing love. We pray that You help us fully grasp just how unstoppable and unconditional Your love is. Teach us to lean into Your love, especially when we feel unworthy or far from You. And let us always remember that nothing can ever separate us from Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now, let's unpack this together.

Unfailing Love

God's love is unfailing. This is a simple statement, yet it carries a profound truth that can transform our lives. The love of God is not like human love. It doesn't waver, it doesn't change, it doesn't falter. It is constant, consistent, and unwavering. It is a love that is always there, even when we feel undeserving or distant from it.

His love is not based on our performance or our worthiness: It is not dependent on our actions, our successes, or our failures. His love for us is not a reward for our good behavior or a punishment for our bad behavior. It is simply a fact of His nature. God is love, and because He is love, He loves us unconditionally and unfailingly.

A radical concept: Especially in a world where love is often conditional and based on what we do or don't do. But God's love is different. It is a love that is always there, no matter what. It is a love that doesn't give up on us, even when we give up on ourselves. It is a love that sees our flaws, our failures, and our sins, and still chooses to love us.

It’s active and powerful: It is a love that pursues us, that seeks us out, that never gives up on us. It is a love that is willing to go to the greatest lengths, even to the point of death on a cross, to show us just how much we are loved.

A commitment, a covenant: It is a promise that God makes to us, that He will never leave us or forsake us. It is a promise that He will always be there for us, no matter what we go through, no matter how far we stray, no matter how much we mess up.

For the good times and the hard times: It is a love that is there in the midst of our trials, our struggles, and our pain. It is a love that is there when we are at our lowest, when we feel abandoned and alone. It is a love that is there when we are in the valley, not just when we are on the mountaintop.

For everyone: It is a love that is available to all, regardless of who we are, where we come from, or what we have done. It is a love that is inclusive, not exclusive. It is a love that is for the sinner as well as the saint, for the outcast as well as the insider, for the broken as well as the whole.

For eternity: It is a love that transcends time and space, that reaches beyond the grave, that is not limited by death or decay. It is a love that is everlasting, that will never end, that will never fade away.

Pastor, here would be a good place to share a personal story about a time when you experienced God's unfailing love in a powerful way. This could be about a time when you made a mistake or could be a story about someone that you know.
