This sermon explores Mary's faith journey, emphasizing her divine favor, courageous fight, and steadfast faith in God amidst trials, as an inspiration for believers.

Introduction

Welcome, dear friends, to this sacred space where we gather in fellowship and faith, where we seek solace and strength, where we find comfort and courage in the Word of God. As we gather today, let's remember that we are not alone in our journey of faith. We are bound together by the love of Christ, united in our shared pursuit of understanding His teachings, His life, and His love.

Today, we turn our hearts and minds to a well-known passage from the Gospel of Luke. Luke, the physician, the historian, the faithful follower of Christ, provides us with a rich narrative that intertwines the human and the divine, the ordinary and the extraordinary, the earthly and the heavenly.

Let's read together from Luke 1:30-31: "But the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.'"

Oh, the profound mystery and the profound joy that is contained within these verses! Here we find Mary, a young woman of humble origins, chosen by God to carry the Savior of the world. Here we find an angel, a divine messenger, bringing a message of hope and promise. Here we find the beginning of the greatest story ever told.

Manifestation of Mary's Favor

When we look at the life of Mary, we see a young woman who was chosen by God. She was not a queen or a princess. She was not a scholar or a priestess. Yet, God saw something in her that He found favorable. This favor was not based on her social status, her wealth, or her knowledge. It was based on her heart, her faith, and her willingness to serve God.

God's favor profoundly manifested in Mary's life. She was chosen to be the mother of the Savior of the world. This was a monumental responsibility. Yet, Mary accepted it with grace and humility. She did not question God's choice. She did not doubt her ability to fulfill this role. She simply trusted in God and accepted His will for her life.

This manifestation of God's favor in Mary's life brought ridicule, rejection, and even the threat of death. Yet, she remained steadfast in her faith. She did not waver in her commitment to God. She did not let the opinions of others deter her from her divine calling.

Mary's believed and trusted in God’s promise. She surrendered her life to His will. This faith, this trust, this surrender is what made Mary favorable in God's eyes. It is what made her worthy of the divine calling that was placed upon her life.

The manifestation of God's favor in Mary's life reminds us that God's favor is not based on our works but on our faith. It reminds us that God can use anyone, regardless of their social status, their wealth, or their knowledge, to fulfill His divine purposes. It reminds us that God's favor is not a reward for good behavior, but a gift of grace that is freely given to those who believe in Him and trust in His promises.

Mary's life also serves as a powerful example for us. It shows us how to respond to God's favor. It shows us how to accept God's will for our lives with grace and humility. It shows us how to remain steadfast in our faith, even in the face of challenges and opposition.
