I love farming

Luke 8:4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: 5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

We have a lot of churches and TV Evangelists, Pastors, Preachers today using Gods word like dynamite. Now, Gods word is powerful and shaper than any two edged sword the Bible says but, Jesus says it is a seed.

A seed is something that is planted and grows to become fruit and something to nourish us and grow by.

But, a seed does nothing until it is planted. What happens to a seed when it is planted? Let’s look at a few facts.

A seed contains life. You cannot see, feel, hear, smell, or taste the life in a seed. There is only one way to prove a seed is alive…plant it. Seeds do not grow sitting in a sack on a shelf. They must be planted in the proper place.

A seed is much smaller than the plant it produces. The problem we face may seem huge. A scripture may seem very small. But when planted, that Word will grow and overcome the problem.

A seed always produces after its kind. Whatever you need, or desire, find the scriptures relating to that. Then plant those scriptures inside you. Those seeds will grow up and produce a harvest of what you need or desire.

A seed begins its growth in secret (underground). The only way to tell if a seed is growing is to dig it up, or wait for a plant to appear. If you dig up a seed, you may kill it.

A seed takes time to produce. No one expects a seed to produce a harvest the same day that seed is planted.

Sometimes the Word of God seems to spring up and bear fruit immediately. Yet, if we knew the details, we would understand that the fruit of the Word grew in that person's life over time.

A seed is persistent. A seed never gives up, but works day and night.

Even when you are sleeping, the seed you have planted is working to grow and express itself in a fruitful harvest.

A seed is not affected by other seeds. Whatever happens to other seeds does not make any difference to a specific seed. Each seed sticks to its own task. One wheat seed planted in a corn field will still produce wheat. Seed does not become discouraged, or quit, even if other seeds die.

But, a seed will stop growing without nourishment. Planting a seed is not enough to assure a harvest. Seed must be protected and taken care of until harvest time. A seed which is dug up, or not watered, will not produce.

I wrote a song years ago called “Watch Gods Garden Grow.” The chorus goes “ I want to sing to the name of the highest of the king of all kings, I want to sing in the name of Jesus cause He is my everything. I want to sow the seeds of salvation ….Jesus let your water flow….I want to sing to the souls of many and watch Gods Garden grow.”

God’s word shines in darkness, Gods word grows into salvation. God’s word is that life more abundant. God’s word is alive forever. Never corrupted but, must be planted.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
