Introduction

“I know that my Redeemer lives.”

Job 19:25

This is one of the most powerful declarations of faith in the Bible — spoken by a man who had lost nearly everything.

Job uttered these words in the midst of unimaginable pain — after losing his children, his wealth, and even his health.

Yet despite it all, he proclaimed:

“I know that my Redeemer lives.”

That declaration was not based on his circumstances but on his confidence in God’s character — that God is sovereign, faithful, and loving.

Job’s Testimony

Job knew God personally.

• He recognized God’s voice.

• He communicated with Him in prayer.

• He experienced His presence in daily life.

Faith like Job’s doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built through knowing God intimately.

1. GOD Is Real and In Charge

When we face hardships, it’s easy to ask, “Lord, where are You?”

Sometimes, we feel that God is distant or silent. But Job reminds us — God is always present and in control.

Job 1:20–21 – “Job stood up, tore his robe in grief, shaved his head, and fell to the ground to worship. He said, ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.’”

Even after losing everything, Job worshiped.

Think of a ship caught in a storm. The waves are rough, the wind is howling, and visibility is zero. But underneath the water, the anchor holds. Job’s faith was anchored — not in his circumstances, but in his Redeemer.

Job understood that:

• His trials did not happen by accident.

• God had allowed them for a greater purpose.

• Nothing happens outside God’s knowledge and control.

God is personally involved in our lives.

He knows what will strengthen our faith and what will reveal His glory.

Romans 8:28 — “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.”

Even when you don’t understand what’s happening, God is working behind the scenes.

He’s still on the throne — guiding, testing, shaping, and loving you.

Application:

When you acknowledge God’s sovereignty, you develop deep peace. You can say like Job:

“I may not understand everything, but I know my Redeemer lives — and He’s in charge.”

2. GOD Can Save Us from Suffering

Suffering often makes us doubt. We think, “Can God really save me?”

But Job’s story proves that God not only allows suffering — He redeems through it.

Job’s faith was tested not to destroy him, but to reveal his sincerity and demonstrate God’s power.

When Satan accused Job of having shallow faith, God allowed the test — not because He was cruel, but because He trusted Job’s integrity.

James 4:7 — “Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Romans 16:20 — “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.”

Satan can tempt, discourage, and confuse — but he cannot destroy the faith of a true believer.

A silversmith refines silver by putting it into intense fire. He never leaves it unattended. He knows the silver is ready when he can see his reflection in it.

Likewise, God allows us to go through fire so His image may be reflected in us.

After the testing, God restored Job’s life — double in every area.

Restoration came in full measure:

• Wealth: Twice as much livestock.

• Family: Seven sons and three beautiful daughters.

• Relationships: His friends returned with gifts and comfort.

• Longevity: He lived 140 more years and saw four generations.

• Fulfillment: He died “old and full of days.”

Personal Testimony:

There was a time when I lacked financially. I would eat simple noodles while others enjoyed fine restaurants. But I prayed sincerely, “Lord, bless me to have more than enough.” I believed that prayer, and in time, God provided abundantly. I thanked Him in advance — and He was faithful to answer.

God hears your prayer — for provision, healing, or breakthrough.

He may not answer immediately, but He never fails to answer faithfully.

3. GOD’s Love and Concern Are Evident in His Redemption

Job’s confidence was rooted in God’s redeeming love — a love that forgives, restores, and never gives up.

To understand this, let’s look at Hosea and Gomer.

Illustration – Hosea’s Love for Gomer:

Despite Gomer’s repeated unfaithfulness, Hosea bought her back from slavery — a powerful picture of God’s love for us.

• Unconditional Love: God loves us even when we fail.

• Redemption: No matter how far we stray, God is willing to redeem us.

• Forgiveness in Action: Like Hosea, God doesn’t just say “I forgive you” — He restores us.
