"I Just Can’t Get Over It!"

Text: Revelation 1:4-6

"John to the seven churches which are in Asia:

Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which

is, and which was, and which is to come; and

from the seven Spirits which are before his

throne;

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful

witness, and the first begotten of the dead,

and the prince of the kings of the earth.

Unto him that loved us, and washed us from

our sins in his own blood,

And hath made us kings and priests unto God

and his Father; to him be glory and dominion

for ever and ever. Amen."

Introduction-

In the book of Revelation, Chapter 2, vs.

1-7, we read about the church of Ephesus.

Now, this was a hard working body of believers.

They would not tolerate heresy, but they had

one major flaw-they had left their first love

for God. They didn’t love Him as they once

did. They were not being as faithful to Him

as they once were. They began to do what some

husbands and wives sometimes do, they begin to

take each other for granted, and the depth of

their feelings for each other grew more and

more distant.

I want to speak to you this morning about why

I just can’t get over it! I really mean that!

God is so good, and His love is so wonderful,

if sinners only knew how wonderful they would

fall at His feet in repentance as quickly as

they could; but alas, Satan has blinded them,

and their hearts have become callous, and hard,

and they cannot seem to realize the wonder of

God’s salvation.

I. I JUST CAN’T GET OVER THE FACT THAT JESUS LOVES

ME!

He loves you, too! To know Him, and the power

of His resurrection is the greatest experience

in life. It is the greatest love affair in

life, for no love comes anywhere near equality

with God’s love.

God does not love us because we are good, but

"while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

We would never have loved Him, had He not first

loved us. We love Him because He first loved

us, and gave His Son on Calvary’s cross for us.

We did not seek Him, but He found us, and He

saved us by His grace. All we, like sheep, went

astray, but God came looking for us, and He did

not cease searching until He found us, and brought

us home, into His kingdom. I rejoice in being

part of the family of God. Don’t you? I’ve

been cleansed by the blood, adopted into the

Family of God, forgiven all my sins, and made

an heir of all that belongs to God! Wow! If

that doesn’t put you on shouting ground, nothing

will!

The kindness and mercy of God is ours for the

taking. He offers, we must receive it, by faith.

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath

bestowed upon us, that we should be called the

sons of God."

It is time for us to re-realize just who we are,

and why we are. Bless His wonderful Name!

II.Secondly, I JUST CAN’T GET OVER THE FACT THAT

ALL MY SINS ARE FORGIVEN FOR CHRIST’S SAKE.

As the Psalmist wrote-"Blessed is he whose

transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered."

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord doth not

impute sin." Ps. 32:1-2

He took my sin, and bestowed upon me His right-

eousness. He took my sorrow and saddness, and

replaced it with His joy! He took my lonliness

and emptiness, and gave me His love.

Love does not keep a record of wrongs. Check

the list in heaven, and no sins are recorded

against the redeemed. There is no condemnation

to those who are in Christ, who walk not after

the flesh, but after the Spirit.

III. Thirdly, I JUST CAN’T GET OVER BEING RESCUED FROM

A LITERAL, BURNING HELL.

Yes, it is real, and it is hot! But even worse

that that, it is seperation forever from the

presence of a Holy, Righteous, and Loving God.

This is the eteral fate of all the unrepentant,

and its horror is beyong human comprehension.

It is darkess, and pain, and lonliness, and

saddness, and guilt and shame. It will be

a place where roses never bloom, and the sun

never shines, a place where laughter is never

heard, and peace is never known.

Oh, my friend, escape Hell. Flee from the

wrath to come! Come to Jesus!

IV. Fourthly, I JUST CAN’T GET OVER THE GLORY OF

HEAVEN THAT AWAITS ME!

It is all because I am a born-again child of

God, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is not because of any merit of my own.
