Summary: Have you ever heard the old saying, “If you fail to plan, then you may as well plan to fail.”
I FEEL COMPLETELY INADEQUATE
Luke 14:28-33
Have you ever heard the old saying, “If you fail to plan, then you may as well plan to fail.”
This is a hard saying of Christ that makes it sound impossible to be able to one of his disciples.
We should always have a plan of action no matter how simple your task is.
Resume for Failure
1) I don’t know enough.
2) I’m not good enough.
3) I’ve made too many mistakes.
YOU ARE A CANDIDATE FOR GOD TO USE IF...
1) YOU HAVE MESSED UP BIG TIME

Isaiah once lamented. ‘Woe to me!’ I cried. ‘I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips…’ Isaiah 6:5
LOOK AT THE MAJOR CHARACTERS OF THE BIBLE

Few verses later in Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’
2) YOU ARE UNSURE OF YOURSELF.
Moses said to the LORD, ‘O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.’ Exodus 4:10
• God doesn’t choose the qualified, He qualifies the chosen.
The LORD said to him, ‘Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."’ Exodus 4:11-12
3) OTHERS THINK YOU ARE NOT.
The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13
