I Don't Feel A Thing! (Hix)

People are always concerned with physical body and not really concerned with spiritual body, but physical is connected to the spiritual!

Sickness, disease, famine, pestilence, wars, death are all a direct or indirect result of sin!!

The only way to bring any kind of healing to the physical, is to heal the spiritual!

We are visual people, that’s what got us in trouble in the first place…So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes (Genesis 3:6).

Some people buy a house, because of the way it looked!

Some people buy food, meal, dessert, because of the way that it look! (T.V. Advertisement) You can be full, and yet see something on t.v. and it makes you hungry.

Some people buy clothes, because of the way it looks, or they way, they thinks it looks!

Some people date someone, or get married , because of the way they look!

That is why Jesus spoke in parables, He used physical things (Seeds, Water, Light, Soil, Birth, Wedding, Wine, Bread) to explain spiritual things (Witnessing, Testimony, Spiritual Birth, Christian Life, Christian Walk).

So God is going to use leprosy as a teaching tool!

He is going to show us what leprosy does to the physical body, is a direct correlation to what sin not only does to physical body but also to spiritual body!

God is using something that was common in the Jewish life, everybody knew what leprosy was, either they had seen it or maybe their family had been effected by it.

God is giving a physical parable of what sin does to a person.

Verse 3-The priest shall examine the sore on the skin of the body; and if the hair on the sore has turned white, and the sore appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, it is a leprous sore. Then the priest shall examine him, and pronounce him unclean.

To Be Deeper Than The Skin Of His Body-The priest would know that if the leprosy was deeper than the skin, it had most like had spread to joints and bones.

Just like sin, we may see the outward displays of the effects of sin (Violence, Hatred, Murder, Sexual sins) but the root of all these problems is deep rooted in mankind!

Matthew 12:34-35-Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

Matthew 15:16-20-So Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding? Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”

Proverbs 23:7-For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

The root of all the worlds problem is a heart issue!

The one with leprosy may could have hid it for a while, but soon or later it was going to be revealed.

People can mask or hid their sins for a while, but sooner or later, those sins begin to show!

Whenever the priest looked at that person, he knew all the signs, all the signals if that person had leprosy!

If God was to look at you today, would He see a life spotted with sin, or has sin spread over every area of you life?

Or would He see a life clean? Cleaned by the blood of the Lamb!

One of the affects of leprosy was it attacked the nervous system, and it would affect the person’s ability to feel pain. It numbed the body.

You would think that would be a good thing, not being able to feel pain, but what would happen if they accidentally stuck their hand or feet near a fire, and get burned, and not know and pull away.

They might get a thorn in their foot, and not feel it and it gets infected, and not long it would fall off, because of decay.

Are you numb to the sins in your life?

There was a time in your life, whenever you sinned against God or against another person, your couldn’t wait to restore that relationship. You couldn’t wait to repent!
