Summary: A few points to help us know of our salvation and our relationship with Christ

I Believe there is a God

I Timothy 2:1-6

Introduction:

I Corinthians 8:6 says…

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him

Ephesians 4:4-6 says…

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

I John 5:7-8 says…

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

>>With the foundation laid in these verses we can build on WHY I believe there is a God

1. Because we know that we know, that we know, that we know.

>the word know means….to have a clear understanding

>we clearly know that there is a God

Philippians 3:10 says…

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;…………WE KNOW HIM

II Timothy 1:12 says…

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

WE ARE NOT ASHAMED

Job 19:25 says…

And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

WE KNOW WE WILL SEE HIM

2. Because we are saved

Ephesians 2:8 says…

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

WE HAVE REC’D THE GIFT

John 3:16 says…

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

AGAIN WE HAVE REC’D THE GIFT

3. We have a changed life

~Change means…to take the place of something else, or to replace.

~We have changed our old loves for a new and better life in Christ.

II Corinthians 5:17 says…

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new

Romans 12:1 says…

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

>>I’m glad that I am no longer the old man I used to be, but new in Christ Jesus.

4. Our Testimony

~Testimony means…a declaration made a affirm the evidence

Psalm 107:2a says…

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so

Psalm 126:3 says…

The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

Revelation 12:11 says…

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

5. We have a home in Heaven

John 14:1-2 says…

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

(I Thess 4:13-18 John 11:25)

Closing:

Do you know there is a God, and do you know Him?
