I beat my body!

1 Corinthians 9:27’I beat my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.’

Your going to need a fierce, aggressive and forceful attitude to beat sin! Watch what Apostle Paul said, ’I beat my body and bring it under control’; what does this mean? This does not mean he literally uses a stick to beat himself, this means he would say a strong, firm ‘NO’ to things that would lead to sin, confusion and mayhem. Are you listening? You cannot hold on to the world and the Word! We are bombarded on all sides with products, materials and pomp with utterly easy way of purchase, how does one escape? Beat your body and bring it under control! Are you listening?

Someone wrote to me like this, ‘though I continue to live a wicked life, though I continue to ignore Him, yet God still loves me, I thank Him for that.’ This is a blatant lie of the enemy to push you into the pit of hell! Are you listening young man? Jesus was crystal clear in His instruction to the woman caught in adultery, He said; ‘sin no more.’ We love to hold on to His compassion of forgiving the woman, but the latter part is ‘ace’, where He makes it clear that ‘He would not tolerate further indulging in the adulterous act.’ Know who your God is! What your about to read would hit you between the eyes! The Lord said: Leviticus 26:15”and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant,

16 I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart.” Strive to be holy! Beat your body and bring it under control!

We see rebelliousness, wickedness, inside the church, because of lackadaisical attitude approach from the pulpit to reining in erring Christians. Many walk into the church, after half the service is over, satan has robbed them the opportunity of hearing the Word. For many, church is yet another shopping mall! Are you listening? We need FIRE from the pulpit to reach out to the indifferent, lazy erring Christians! I am not being unkind, I am writing this with tears! A married man brings his girl friend to the Holy communion service, a Christian man marries both the sisters and has a big family with multitude of kids – they all attend church together. Imagine! Don’t we need fire? Tell me.

There are heaps of con people around who would try to mesmerize you into wrong embezzlement of funds, enticing plans for wrong investments, business proposals and much more. Keep close to God and His Word, He would give you wisdom to stay away from evil. Someone asked me with sincere love and concern, ’sister, don’t you have the latest mobile with flashy features that would vastly benefit you?’ I didn’t have one and there was a ‘violent surge’ from inside me to possess one! In the next few hours I got to read the words of Apostle Paul, 1 Corinthians 4:11‘To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless…… 14 I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you.”
