Summary: By this all will know-Visible by all, not just by brethren! People hear how we treat one another, they hear how we talk about one another! People see if fellowship with one another!
John 13:34-35-A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
He said, they will know we are His disciples, if we love one another
He didn’t say, they will know we are His disciples, if we have the tallest steeple!
He didn’t say, they will know we are His disciples, if we have the biggest building!
He didn’t say, they will know we are His disciples, if we have the biggest offering!
He didn’t say, they will know we are His disciples, if we have the most people!
He didn’t say, they will know we are His disciples, if we have the most baptism!
He didn’t say, they will know we are His disciples, if you have the best preacher!
He said, they will know we are His disciples, if we love one another!!!
By this all will know-Visible by all, not just by brethren!
People hear how we treat one another, they hear how we talk about one another!
People see if fellowship with one another!
Sometimes the reason a Christian’s family doesn’t come to church or come to Christ, is because they have heard that Christian bad mouth another Christian, or the Preacher, or Deacon, Sunday School Teacher….( Maybe they were mad at the time, but you can’t take those words back!)
Ephesians 4:32-And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Colossians 3:13-bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
If we have spoke ill of someone in Church in front of someone who is lost, we need to make sure they know we have forgiven our brother or sister!
The lost have to see something different in Christians, they see world treating each other badly all the time!
You don’t know the people I have to deal with!
How difficult was it, at times for Jesus to love the disciples? Those men "...could be stubborn, quarrelsome, selfish, ambitious, often presumptuous men.
We are family, we got to love one another, because, you can pick your friends but you can’t pick your family! Can I get Amen!
1 Peter 4:8-And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
This call to love one another isn’t just a suggestion; it isn’t something you might want to get around to doing eventually.
It’s not optional, which means that we are either obeying the Lord, or disobeying His command.
"People may not remember exactly what you did or what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel."
