Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas

Sermons

Summary: To show our thanfulness to God, we should Ponder His Greatness, Prepare our hearts for His entrance, Practice His Teachings, and Proclaim His messaage to others.

Intro: At a Thanksgiving dinner table, the youngest

member of the group (age 4) volunteered to say the

blessing. It went as follows: "God is great, God

is good...LET US THANK HIM! Amen." While some would

argue that she forgot part of the blessing, the impact

of that prayer penetrated the hearts of those present.

WE SHOULD THANK GOD! WE DON’T THANK HIM ENOUGH!

HOW CAN WE THANK HIM??? CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

I. BY PONDERING HIS GREATNESS (Psalm 8)

II.BY PREPARING OUR HEARTS FOR HIS ENTRANCE

*sinner’s prayer...confessing sin, coming

clean with God about our need*

III. BY PRACTICING WHAT HE TEACHES

*Walk the Walk as well as talk the talk.*

*The best witness is a life lived for Jesus*

IV. BY PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL TO ALL WITH

WHOM WE COME IN CONTACT

*Paul said "I am not ashamed of the Gospel"

*Neither should we be!!

By doing these things, we can live our lives in

gratitude for God’s Greatness and Goodness....

INDEED, HE IS GREAT AND HE IS GOOD...LET US THANK HIM!
