Summary: HOW TO RECEIVE AN ANSWER TO YOUR PRAYERS? This is the question asked by people all over the world. Here are three simple yet powerful steps to receive an answer to our prayers. God knows our needs before we do ourselves.

HOW TO RECEIVE AN ANSWER TO YOUR PRAYERS.

Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Mat 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

I. The first step if we are to have an answer to our prayers is to first Seek the Lord!

It means to look for, hunt for, and search for. Did you ever loss anything important?

We should first seek the Lord! Jesus said Seek, and ye shall find;

Mat 6:33 KJV - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

A. Seeking Jesus is seeking the kingdom of God.

B. Revival comes with seeking God!

2 Chr 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chr 7:15 - Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attend unto the prayer that is made in this place.

C: David knew where to go to seek the Lord, to the House of God!

Psa 27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.

1. Many think they do not need to go to church. They can stay home and watch TV ministry. I believe there is a place for blessing in ministry via the media, but the place God wants us to gather is in the House of the Lord. The local church.

2. It is where we can pray for one another.

3. It is where we can bear one anothers burden.

Luke 19:10 - For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Jesus is a SEEKER, He seeks you.

D. You will find Him when with your whole heart you seek Him.

Col 3:1 - If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Col 3:2 - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

II. We must be willing to knock and keep on knowing. (that knocketh it shall be opened)

A. It is Jesus doing the knocking first. Look what happens if you hear and open. to him

Rev 3:20 KJV - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

1. After we let Him into our lives then the blessing of God can be on us.

2. Matt. 6:33. We seek him first, we are saved then He says all things are added to us, we then hear Him knocking and we open our lives and He has fellowship with us. (sup with us)

III. Then we ASK Him. Mat 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you;

First we seek Him, (we find Him) then we know, (begin our daily fellowship with Him) and finally we ask Him.

A. Many time we do not take time to ask Him.

B. He knows what we need, but He want us to ask in faith.

C. We must ask according to His Will, His Word is His Will.

James 4:3 - Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

1 John 5:14 - And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 1 John 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

D. We must always ask in faith. James 1:6 - But let him ask in faith,

E. He is able to do all things and more than we need.

Eph 3:20 - Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us
