Summary: There are millions of people in the world that need help. Are you willing to help some of them? If so, here’s some things to remember.
How to Help Others
Text: Matthew 7:1 – 12
I. Introduction
· US population = 299 million
· 211 million do not claim to be Christian
· 600,000 are homeless
· 14 million addicted to alcohol
· Between 13 and 14 million depressed
· Over 950,000 divorces this year
· Almost 1,400,000 new cases of cancer
· 7.1 million unemployed
· 1 death every 13 seconds
II. Body
A. Make sure that you have the right attitude (v. 1)
B. Hold yourself accountable to the same standard that you set for others (v. 2)
C. Remember that no one is perfect (vv. 3, 4)
D. Self-examination is a necessary prerequisite to helping others (v. 5)
E. You can only help those that want to be helped (v. 6)
F. Seek God’s assistance (vv. 7 – 11)
G. Treat others with respect and care (v. 12)
