HOW TO GET YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED

Text: James 5:13-18

INTRODUCTION: There are some people who wonder why their prayers are not answered. We can not do as we please and obtain what we want. If we want what God had promised in His Word, we must do as He commanded in His Word. The Lord will keep His Word at any cost. He will do as He has promised.

I. SEEKING GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART.

“And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.” Observe man's ‘shalls’ and God's 'wills.' Man's ‘shalls’ come before God's ‘wills.’ This can not be done halfheartedly and release God's will. It must be “with all the heart.”

II. WAITING ON THE LORD.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry” (Psalm 40:1).

III. ASKING IN FAITTH.

“All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” (Matt. 21:22).

IV. ASKING ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL.

“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us” (I John 5:14).

V. SETTING OUR LOVE ON GOD.

“Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him” (Psalm 91:14, 15).

VI. ABIDING IN CHRIST.

“If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15:7).

VII. KEEPING GOD'S COMMANDMENTS.

“And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”

(I John 3:22).
