Summary: How to do missions right.

Text: Romans 10:13-15

Title: The right way to do missions.

“For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Our text contains God’s formula for doing missions right

Here is the formula: The right message plus the right method plus the right response = the right miracle!

What is the right message for doing missions?

What is the right method for doing missions?

What is the right response?

What is the right miracle after missions is done right?

1.What is the right message for doing missions?

A.The right message for doing missions right is a message of good news!

“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (v15)

Illustration: You and I look our best when we bring a message of good news to someone else.Even our feet look beautiful when we bring a message of good news to someone else!

B.So what is the message of good news that people need to hear?

C.“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (v13)

D.“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” is the best news anyone could ever hear.

1. Every one who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved is good news for everyone. It does not say “Only certain ones who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

“God wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

(1 Timothy 2:4)

“After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the lamb.” (Rev. 7:9-10)

God wants everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord to be saved.

Application:

You might be here today and be unsure if God wants to save you! Well according to Romans 10:13 he does!

You might be unsure if God wants you to tell a friend or fellow worker the good news that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Well according to Romans 10:13 He does want that person told.

Before we move on to finding out the right message do we all remember the right message?

The right message is “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Now let’s look at the right method for bringing the right message so that missions can be done right and the right miracle can happen.

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

What is the right method for bringing the right message? People!

What kind of people? People with the right message!

Illustration: Do you know the right message?

Could God not come up with a better method? He hasn’t. Why?

God has entrusted us with the responsibility to tell others the good news that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

And then I heard the voice of the Master: “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I spoke up, “I’ll go. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8

The right message: The good news that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

The right method: people like you and me who know the right message

The right message plus the right method plus the right response= the right miracle

What is the right response?

That everyone would call on the Name of the Lord!

But in order for someone to receive the miracle of salvation need 3 things to happen

1.They must hear the message.

The Devil doesn’t want people to hear the message

“Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God.”

He snatches the word away…

2.They must believe the message

People must not only hear the message. They must also believe.

To believe = to trust .To trust that the message is true.
