EZRA 7:10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

EZRA 7:25 And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not.

There are some of God's servants that want to do great things for God, but want to do them the wrong way. There is only one way you can do anything for God and that is God's way according to His Word. There are some Christians who do not want to do anything for God except show up every other Sunday and bless the congregation with their presence. God never has called anyone to be pew and chair warmers in the church; God has called all of His servants to roll up their sleeves and go to work for the kingdom in the calling that He has called each one of us to do for God. God wants you to give to the monetary, but He also wants us to give Him some of our time as well. The best way to be a great servant for the Lord is to do obey Jesus' Words.

First, we must get our heart right with God. "prepared his heart " It was King David a man after God's own heart who said, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me"(Psalm 51:10). Here, we see the requirements on serving God whole heartily with a clean and pure heart, a heart like Jesus. God can never use a person who has stored up hatred and unforgiving in their hearts for His kingdom work. I shouldn't look at people who have fallen and made many mistakes and come to a conclusion that they are not worthy of the Lord. I should look at everybody through the eyes of Jesus and see them as Jesus sees them and what they can be and do when Jesus comes into their hearts. In order to do great things for the kingdom of heaven you must have a pure heart.

Second, we must desire God's Word. "seek the law of the LORD" As a child of God I should want to know everything I can about my Lord Jesus. I should learn what He loves, what He hates, what He desires, what He doesn't desire so I can better please Him and be a better servant of Jesus. The Bible says in Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." We see in verse 10 chapter 7 that it states to "seek" the law meaning to go in search or quest of: to seek the truth, Jesus said. “For this reason I was born and have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to My voice. Do you belong to the truth my friends, do you belong to God because He is the truth? In order to do great things for the kingdom of heaven you must desire God's Word.

Third, we must obey God's Word. "and to do it" Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments"(John 14:15). Jesus said, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them"(John 14:23). This is why it is important for us to be faithful and obey God's Holy Words and in doing so it reflects who we are as a servant of the most high God. The Prophet Samuel said "to obey is better than sacrifice" In order to do great things for the kingdom of heaven you must obey God's Word.

Fourth, we must teach others God's Word. "and to teach "It is every believers commission to go and tell others about Jesus and what He has done for them on the cross. This is the great commission that Jesus commanded His disciples to go and tell others about this great Gospel of our Lord. When we are faithful and obedient to God the Holy Spirit will lead you to those who need Jesus. The Holy Spirit will speak through you and prick the heart of the lost person so we don't have to beat them over the head with the Bible or force them to accept anything. It is the work of the Holy Spirit of God that shows the unbeliever that they are in need of a savior because they are natural-born sinners headed to the pit. All we have to do is tell them about Jesus and His love for them and in doing so I pray they will see the love in our hearts for them as well. When Christians do their jobs the Holy Spirit then will do His job. In order to do great things for the kingdom of heaven you must have a burning desire to see people come to Jesus and be saved by His all-powerful blood that was shed on Calvary for all of mankind.
