Proposition – You must build your relationship with Jesus!

I. By being totally committed!

A. Forget feelings! II Timothy. 2:1-7

Newlyweds-everything fresh, different, after awhile routine

Examples: soldier, athlete, farmer

B. Recognize your position! Ephesians 1:15-23

Christ-Head You-Body Healthy bodies do nothing without the head’s

input.

II. By Being Unselfish!

A. Love gives when it hurts! II Corinthians 8:1-5

Widow’s mite, David at threshing floor, Macedonians

B. Love cannot be selfish! Acts 20:18-38 – Paul could have had it made.

I Corinthians 13

III. By being mature!

A. Maturity is stable! Ephesians 4:11-16 (to and fro)

B. Maturity handles problems effectively!

Psalm 133:1 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell

together in unity.

Blessed are the peacemakers! Maturity loves, is tolerant, does not backbite,

does not bicker. Love trusts. Job 13:15 – “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” Trust here means to wait in hope – realizing God’s sovereignty.
