Summary: Building up the Church is a full time job with the world in the sad codition its in.
HOW TO BUILD UP THE CHURCH
Acts 2: 41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
I suppose that every pastor tries to come up with ways to build the church some way to get
People to come to church. I am always trying to come up with new ideas. I pray that some
Way we could grow for the sake of our Lord.
Here are seven things I want to try maybe they will work.
(1) We need to Desire it.
Romans 10: 1Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Phil. 3: 7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
(2) We need to attend it up
Acts 20: 7And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
Hebrews 10: 25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
(3) Maybe light it up
Matt.5: 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
(4) Work it up
Acts 20: 20And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,
Phil.2: 12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
(5) Preach it up
Acts 8: 31And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
Romans 10: 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(6) Give it up
1st Cor.16: 2Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
2nd Cor.85And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
(7) Pray it up
James 5: 16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Acts2: 42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
