“HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN WITH VISION”
Dr. Dennis Deese
I SAMUEL 3:1-21
As Christians, we are to be following the example of Jesus and He came to know and do the will of the Father. Do you know His will? Do you have a vision that was born in the heart of God and given to you by Him?
“I can of mine own self do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father who hath sent me.” (John 5:30)
“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” (John 4:34)
“For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” (John 6:38)
“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.” (John 17:4)
“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” (John 19:30)
There are three stages of advancement that lead to the development of a visionary Christian:
I. THE PREREQUISITE OF DESIRE 3:1 “the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord”
A. Attitude - serious and concerned
B. Authenticity - Eli’s son were hypocrites
C. Action
II. THE PROCESS OF DISCOVERY 3:4-11 “Behold, I will do a thing in Israel”
A. Attention
B. Anticipation
C. Asking
D. Affirmation
II. THE PRINCIPLE OF DEDICATION 3:19 “And did let none of his words fall to the ground”
That is fullfilled by being:
A. Constant
B. Committed
C. Convicted
