How long?

John 5:6”When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?"

Observe the words, ‘Jesus knew that he already had been in that condition a long time!’ I am speaking to someone out there today! May be you’re wondering:

• does Jesus know that I am waiting for a long time?

• does He know that I have been suffering for a long time?

• does He know the pain, does He know the loneliness?

• does He know the humiliation that I’m suffering?

• does He know the injustice done to me, the list goes on????

YES HE KNOWS! Jesus very specifically knew that this man had been lying there for 38 long years! He knew! I felt a massive wave of relief crash over me, when I read these words! The fact that ‘He knows’ I’m sure is comforting indeed! Agree? I just preached this message at church in the evening service! I feel anointed! Have you watched people trying to make eye contact with the officer, just to make sure that he knows your waiting in the line for him? But the Bible says, ‘God knows everything!’ He does not have a bad memory, neither will He ignore you – He knows! Period.

Job while going through tremendous pain, isolation, humiliation and severe criticism said:

• Job 23:9 “When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him.

• But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” Glory!

While I was pregnant with my second child and diagnosed with serious fibroids in my uterus, I was working for a multinational bank then; during lunch breaks, I would curl up in a dark empty room – it was an eerie, scary period. However, God brought me out of the darkness and revealed His glory to me! (Click HERE to read my entire testimony of healing) I should tell the entire healing message at Bethesda pool! The man was discouraged, scared, mocked, abandoned and dejected; yet, watch this, watch this, Jesus specifically chose to personally encounter him. He knew he was in pain, hopeless and helpless! Jesus looks at him and gives Him a powerful command: "Rise, take up your bed and walk." Imagine, God speaking these words to a man who was lying still for 38 years! God picks out the weak and makes them strong! Hallelujah! I feel elated!

The Bible says, ‘immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.’ Boy! Life changes in a jiffy and he gets to walk briskly! Is there anything too hard for the Lord? Tell me.

Jesus does not stop there, but goes ahead to reveal Himself to him and the man goes around the town telling the Jews, ‘Jesus healed me!’ You have no fear after you have met the Big God! Fear vanishes! A difficult person becomes a different person! A bitter person becomes a better and beautiful person! Amen.
