How Jesus Successfully Used Metaphors

Summary: Metaphor - A figure of speech used to describe, illustrate or apply something to a lesson that it does not usually denote.
11. Jesus said, "Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don't you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." (Mark 4:21-23) Jesus is teaching us to let the light of Christ in us shine through our words, actions, writings, ministries, interactions, relationships etc. Ask the Lord for the wisdom and power to demonstrate His light to the dark corners of the world!!!
