Summary: how do you grow in grace
How do you grow in grace, go to church every Sunday, watch a lot of christian tv, or attend a conference? How do you grow in grace, (first, second, third):
1. Be Vigilant.
How do you grow in grace, first, be sober, be vigilant against the thing's that Satan uses to stop you growing in grace, like temptation, trails, and troubles. In 1 Peter 5: 8&9, the apostles reminds us to, "Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith,". How do you grow in grace, be vigilant, and stand fast in the faith and resist the devil when he tries to stop you living for Christ with temptations, trails, and troubles.
2. Be Not Ignorant.
How do you grow in grace, second, be not ignorant about the truth that is taught in God's Word about the coming of the Lord. Peter reminds us in 2 Peter 3:8&9, ""be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day". The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness: but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." How do you grow in grace, be no ignorant about the return of Christ, the resurrection, and the rapture of the church, IT COULD HAPPEN AT ANY TIME ! The Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night!
3. Be Diligent.
How do you grow in grace, third, be diligent about staying ready for the coming of Christ. The Apostle Peter tell''s us in 2 Peter 3:14, "Therefore, beloved, looking toward these things, be diligent to be found in Him in peace without spot and blameless:". How do you grow in grace, be diligent about being and staying ready without sot and blameless for the return of Christ!
Concl: As we sing "Have Thine Own Way"let's come up front and stand in prayer and praise and examine yourself tonight, don't let anything hinder you from being ready for the Lord's return.
