Summary: The Bible speaks us on how to deal divisions in life.

B. Division can be cured by having good reactions or discovering the truth to any reports. In most cases, many individuals and churches where being split because of the wrong reports. And these divisions become most horrible if both have not discovered the truth to any reports. And also one important thing is our good reactions toward any reports. Sometimes we speak harshly after hearing the reports, without thinking how true it was. Divisions can be cured if both will have good reactions and discover the truth of any reports.

C. Division can be cured by having agreement or understanding and agreeing each idea. May be this is the most hard thing for us to do especially when both have already its conflict. But we need to take note that this is also the most important thing that should everyone must have in order divisions will be cured; to agree or understand its idea because we as man were all limited in wisdom.

III – The Biblical Solutions

A. Tame the tongue. Jam 3:8 But no one has ever been able to tame the tongue. It is evil and uncontrollable, full of deadly poison.

As Christians we need to remember that we need to tame our tongue because as what it said in here that it is evil and uncontrollable, and full of deadly poison. How worse is our tongue if it is not being tame? Henry said, “that the tongue of men is worst that the tongue of a lion and most of the savage beast.” And if we have this uncontrolled tongue this will be the factor of great quarrels, troubles, and divisions. And if we will not tame our tongue in speaking of evil, our troubles and divisions will become worst. Brethren if we want solution of division we need to tame our tongue, and speak not harshly for this is to break God’s law and gives the devil a foothold to work divisions among us.

B. Don’t speak evil against to one another. Jam 4:11 Speak not one against another, brethren. He that speaketh against a brother, or judgeth his brother, speaketh against the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judgest the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

Another most common cause of division is speaking against its other. In this passage James instructed the believers to speak not against its other. In Greek word, “katalaleite,” this signifies of speaking anything that may hurt or injure another. And in hurting someone will cause of divisions. Brethren in avoiding of speaking evil against to one another will also avoid us from divisions. In that way, we must not speak evil things to others

C. Uniting in Christ and focus on Him alone. 1Co 1:5 For in union with Christ you have become rich in all things, including all speech and all knowledge.

This passage was a part of Paul’s message to the Corinth church that in union with Christ they got rich in all things, including all speech and all knowledge. The word “union with Christ”, speaks of having unity in all areas… that Christians must be united in Christ and not to come up with divisions. Even the Corinthians people also experienced the divisions of ideas, that’s why Paul encourage them in 1:13 to focus on Christ because He is the source and the remedy of division. And this is the truth! Because through Him people were being united, maybe not in faces and not gestures or in other else but in belief and ideas we are one. If every people would just focus on Christ divisions will not have its place. Therefore as Christian we need to unite in Christ and focus on Him alone.
