Summary: Impact City is a siren to today's church, encouraging both the new and mature Believer to consider being multi-task oriented when engaging with lost people who feel disconnected from the local church. A focus on the Great Commision and Mission is the key.

Scripture Reading:

John 2:13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

Introduction:

2013 years after the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, the church is still in a state of renovation. When Jesus erupted in the temple and told them to tear this temple down and in 3 days I will raise up another, shows that Christ is about being Biblical, Missional and Radical. When you are Biblical you base everything you do upon God's Word and you walk in light of the word. Doesn't mean you take it lightly but you reprogram your mind to think how Jesus would. Likewise, there are times when we need to get ruthless with the sin in our lives. This will lead us to a place where we become set-free, and our next goal is to see others delivered.

We then become Missionary minded and our focus is going out with the audacity to "Impact" the world around us. Yet, we can only go so far with Bible knowledge and with missional information on what should be done to make the world come to Christ. We must then become Radical in our approach to win souls.

Body:

The whole nature of Matthew 28:18-20 (Great Commission) is to understand the power of "GO". Yet, before we go we have to receive the Spirit of God which will instruct us on being Biblical. Next, we have a commission to Baptize and teach all nations which sets our minds up to be missional. Furthermore, we often miss the aspect of where we have to "Go" because we are overwhelmed with the commission to do all of this at once. However, I believe that in the mist of God wanting us to juggle being Biblical, Missional, and Radical, He has also made it Digestible for us as Christians through the aspect of Communal Living.

Acts 2:42 states that the early church went from house to house having fellowships that involved 'Teaching, Fellowship, Breaking of Bread, and Prayers'. The church must make strides to incorporate community within their congregations using these four pillars. Why...? Because it's the first baby step towards being Biblical. Being Biblical is not being a hermit or a religious nut but it is recognizing the need for accountability, discipleship, and servant-leadership. Proverbs 27 talks about how 'Iron sharpens Iron' and accountability partners can help people grow more than an individual attempting to master the Bible. Discipleship is being trained to become more Christ-like through stewardship. Servant Leadership is about 'Leading without Titles' and possessing ownership of a God-given vision or concept.

To become Missional, the church must have a purpose in the local community and advance toward spreading their influence to specific centers and parts of the world that are without the Gospel. Therefore, the missional church is mobile and seeks information that will carry them through their Christian Journey. What's amazing, is when I see people ready to quit their jobs to go into full-time ministry or take missions trips and come back radical- ready to go to other parts of the world. Missional church has an excitement that other churches don’t have. We have to look into what made Jesus so upset with the temple that He stated was ready to be demolished. Jesus wanted a church whose heart wasn't set on bringing glory unto themselves. Therefore, he desired that the Gospel be spread and not for churches to only be Biblical but to also be Missional. Furthermore, we see a radical side of Jesus when He went in and turned over the tables. Jesus modeled for us radicalness. Yes... Jesus was Rad!

Conclusion:

To become Radical, the church should be passionate about Glorifying God by being fearless, yet fearing God. The church must be able to pursue people and influence those around us. The only way that can happen is that we must be willing and ready to launch out and reach the lost. We can't be afraid of what people will say or do. We must be possessed with doing exploits for God, in so much, that we can be Spirit led and hear from God. Therefore, we see a chain of being Biblical, only that we can gain information about our mission in this world, in an effort to become a Radical for Christ who is ready to Impact Cities, Countries, and Nations.
