Youth Sermon: Honoring Mom

Introduction

Today, we're gonna talk about our moms! The ones who've been there for us since day one. We're gonna look at how we can show them some love and appreciation, not just on Mother's Day, but every day. So, let's dive in!

Object Lesson: Grab a big, empty jar and some small rocks or marbles. As you talk about the different ways we can honor our moms, add the rocks or marbles to the jar. By the end of the lesson, the jar should be full, showing that when we put all these ways together, we can really make a difference in our moms' lives.

Honoring Our Moms

The Bible tells us to honor our parents, and that includes our moms. So, let's show them some respect! Listen to them when they talk, and even if you don't agree, be polite and kind. Remember, they've got more life experience than us, so they might know a thing or two.

Time is super valuable, and one of the best ways to show our moms we care is by spending time with them. Hang out, watch a movie, or just chat. Trust me, they'll appreciate it!

The Bible also says we should love one another, and that includes our moms. Tell her you love her, give her a hug, or do something special for her. Find out her love language and show her love in the way she understands best.

Moms do a lot for us, and sometimes we don't even realize it. They give up their time, dreams, and even their own needs to take care of us. So, let's show them we see and appreciate all they do.

Action Plan

Now that we've talked about how to honor our moms, let's put it into action! This week, try to do at least one thing we've talked about today. You'll be amazed at how much it means to your mom. And remember, honoring our moms is also a way to honor God.

Prayer

"Dear God, thank You for our moms and all they do for us. Help us to show them love, respect, and appreciation every day. Guide us as we put these ideas into action, and let our actions bring glory to You. Amen."
