1. Early on Jesus had a home

2. Homeless face struggles

• Homeless folk face the lack of a stable home, hunger, uncertainty,

• Loneliness and the harsh realities of life on the streets.

3. Was Jesus homeless?

• Jesus understands your experiences, as he himself experienced hardship and had "nowhere to lay his head" (Matthew 8:20),

• Jesus did not have to be Homeless but Jesus chose to live a nomadic lifestyle traveling

• He often stayed in the homes of disciples and others, highlighting a life of dependence on the generosity of others.

• Jesus often stayed outdoors he was exposed to the elements foxes have holes birds of the air have nests but the son of man has no place to lay his head.

4. Jesus chose homelessness in order to reach out to people

• He did this because he loved people

• He reached out to the people because he knew they were sheep without a shepherd

• He reached out to the lost sheep those who lost their way left the 99

• He reached out to the lepers the outcast of Israel

• He reached out to the prostitutes adulterous

• He reached out to the demonic •

• Saint Benedict, born into a wealthy family around 480 AD, left behind his family's riches, inheritance, and worldly status to seek a life centered in God.

5. Remember Jesus chose to be homeless Saint Benedict chose a homeless way of life to live close to God

• Jesus' life, death, and resurrection were motivated by his love for all people

• Since I am homeless why not live like Jesus going under bridges saying Repent the Kingdom of God is at hand

• He wants to save us so one day in the Fathers house are many mansions

• I maybe homeless but I am still useful.
