Note to the reader:
If you have been blessed with this sermon compilation, I would be honoured to receive an e-mail from you simply telling me where in the world you are based - I do not need any other information. This is merely so that I can have the pleasure of giving thanks to Almighty God for the fact that all over the globe, the ministry which he has entrusted to me, is blessing the body of Christ and helping to extend the Kingdom of God. Thank you.

HOLY SPIRIT – MY EVER-PRESENT HOPE AND HELPER
INTRO
-----
I had something to look forward to
The story is told of a muti-millionaire businessman who greatly changed the lives of a sixth-grade class in a poor downtrodden township. This was an area where most of the students would not finish formal schooling.
He had been asked to speak to a class of 60 children in the sixth grade. What could he say to inspire these students, most of whom would drop out of school? He wondered how he could capture the attendance of these students.
He scrapped his notes and decided to speak from his heart.
“Stay in school,” he encouraged them, “and I’ll help pay the college fees for every one of you.”
At that moment the lives of these students changed. For the first time they had hope. Said one student, “I had something to look forward to, something waiting for me. It was a golden feeling.”
Nearly 90 percent of that class went on to graduate from high school. (Source Uknown)
1. THE HOLY SPIRIT - HE IS THE “GOD OF HOPE”
--------------------------------------------------
I have a golden feeling because the Holy Spirit gives me hope.
YOU TOO CAN HAVE THIS GOLDEN FEELING.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. (NIV)
§ (VS 4: PRE-CONDITION FOR HOPE - ENCOURAGEMENT FROM THE SCRIPTURES – Reading and meditating on it).
Psalm 39:7 “But now, Lord, what do I look for (KJV “What am I waiting for?”) My hope is in you.
2. THE HOLY SPIRIT – HE IS MY HELPER
------------------------------------------
I have a golden feeling because the Holy Spirit is my Helper.
We need not be alone – Jesus has sent the Helper.
JOHN 14:15-18
15 “If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be a in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
§ (VS 15: PRE-CONDITION FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT’S HELP - LOVE FOR JESUS & OBEDIENCE TO HIS WORD)
PSALMS 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble”.
3. THE HOLY SPIRIT - HE IS ALWAYS WITH ME
-----------------------------------------------
I have a golden feeling because the Holy Spirit is always with me, always by my side.
Jesus promised He would never leave me nor forsake me.
This was His promise to:
§ MOSES (Ex 3:12) - 12 And God said, “I will be with you”
§ JOSHUA (Josh 1:9) “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
o (PRE-CONDITION- MEDITATE ON MY WORD AND WALK IN IT)
JOSHUA 1:7-9
7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
§ To Joseph and Mary - AT JESUS’ BIRTH – IMMANUEL – God with us (Matt 1:23).
§ TO THE DISCIPLES - JOHN 14:18: I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. (THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES TO HELP US)
§ And again, To THE DISCIPLES – “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt 28:20).
