Holiness

INTRO:

In the times we live in there is a definite need for a body of born again believers to rise to the occasion and be the church God has called us to be. We have allowed for so much slackness in our lives that it is hard to distinguish who exactly is the church. Before we can win the world to salvation, we must make a return to holiness. As we return we can rekinlde the moments when folks would say, "here comes those Christians again!".

WHAT IS HOLINESS?

First we must answer what it is not.

1)a mere label

2)a denomination

3)an old time religion

WHAT IS IT THEN?

Ephesians 4:24-"And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness". SIMPLY PUT: It is the image and glory of God!

A true holy life-style will only do one thing and that’s to bring glory to God.

God is holy and so is everything about Him.

example: Holy Ghost, Holy temple, Holy place, Holy garments

Isaiah 6:3"And on cried unto another and said Holy holy holy is the Lord God almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory".

Even when God called Moses to the burning bush, he told him to take his shoes off, for the place where he stood was holy.

Holiness means purity, cleanliness, and undefilement.

God is worshipped for his holiness in heaven and earth.

Psalms 99:9 "Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hills; for the Lord our God is holy".

conclusion:

The whole idea of life as a Christian is to gain closeness to God, thereby gaining his holiness.
