Holding the Banner of Truth

Text: John 8:32

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Holman Christian Standard Bible You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

I. Holding fast to the word of life ( Phil. 2:16 )

Life means - The period between the birth and death.

a. Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, ( Eph. 5:15-17)

b. 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

c. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

II. Holding faith, and a good conscience (I Tim. 1:19)

Faith in (Heb.) 11:1 - now faith is the assurance of things hoped

for, the conviction of things not seen.

a. Let us hold the profession of our Faith (Hebrews 10:23 )

b. Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. (1 Corinthians 16:13 )

c. Hold fast to that which is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

III. Holding on out Integrity

Integrity means - doing the right thing at all times and in all circumstances, whether or not anyone is watching. Building a reputation of integrity takes years, but it takes only a second to lose, so never allow yourself to ever do anything that would damage your integrity.

a. Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in speech and is a fool. Proverbs 19:1

b. The righteous keep moving forward and those with clean hands become stronger and stronger. (Job 17:9)
