Summary: A message detailing God's desire to help us when we fall, fail or face challenges in our life.

HELP, I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP!

Text: Mat. 14:26-31

Jesus is alive!

He was lifted out of the grave by the power of God.

God’s power can lift us up from negative situations and circumstances.

PETER WAS LIFTED OUT OF A NEGATIVE CIRCUMSTANCE BY THE POWER OF GOD

I. JESUS LIFTS US UP, BECAUSE HE CARES FOR US.

A. The Story of Peter

Matt 14:26-31(KJV)

26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

1. Following Jesus doesn’t guarantee us that we will never have any more problems.

2. At times, we fill like we are going to sink rather than swim.

3. Jesus will lift us up when we need help in the time of trouble.

II. HE REPLACES THE MISERY WITH MUSIC

Ps 40:1-3(KJV)

1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

A. Turns our sin into salvation

B. Turns our mourning into dancing

C. He takes our sickness and gives us health

III. JESUS LIFTS US UP WHEN WE LEAST EXPECT IT

IV. JESUS LIFTS US UP WHEN WE CRY OUT TO HIM

Jesus

Gal 1:1(KJV)

1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

Lazarus

John 11:43-44(KJV)

43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
