Summary: We all need help at some time or another and we all need to help now and then!

A lady stole three oranges and the judge said, “Because you have no crimal history, I am going to sentence you to three days in jail, one day for each orange!” Her husband stood up and said, “She stole a bag of peas too!”

He didn’t want her to come home that quick!

There are some people who can help, and then there are some people who only want to help themselves!

Romans 12:6-8-In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. (NLT)

1 Peter 4:11-Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. (NLT)

1 Cor. 12:28-Here are some of the parts God has appointed for the church:

First are apostles,

Second are prophets,

Third are teachers,

Then those who do miracles,

Those who have the gift of healing,

Those who can help others,

Those who have the gift of leadership,

Those who speak in unknown languages. (NTL)

22 year-old Christopher Wuebben recently lost his job as a paramedic. While delivering pizzas to make ends meet, Wuebben displayed his true talents when he saved the life of a man who went into cardiac arrest just as his pizza was delivered. When he drove up to a home in suburban Denver, Wuebben heard a woman screaming for help because her husband had collapsed. He assured the woman he knew CPR, got the man on the floor and revived him before the fire department arrived at the scene.

Wuebben’s boss John Kelley told reporters he didn’t know how long the young man would be delivering pizzas for him because one hospital and the fire department had called to offer the veteran a job in his chosen field after hearing of his actions. Kelley added, ”He’s a good kid who was very nonchalant about what he did and hopefully this will work out for him.”

2 Timothy 1:16-The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain; but when he arrived in Rome, he sought me out very zealously and found me. The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that Day—and you know very well how many ways he ministered to me at Ephesus.

Have you ever been around someone who refreshes you, instead of drain you!

Do you want to be that kind of person that refreshes instead of drains people?

Do you know someone who no matter who they are with, they speak to you!

Do you know someone, when they are in a certain crowd, they act like the don’t see you or know you!

Which kind of person do you want to be?

Philippians 2:19-24-But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state.

For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state.

For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.

But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel.

Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it goes with me.

But I trust in the Lord that I myself shall also come shortly.

What Makes A Great Helper

1-Sincerely care for those ones you are ministering too!

2-Seeking what glorifies God not what glorifies themselves!

3-Character of a servant or slave! (Things that was said of Timothy…ministered, my fellow worker, my beloved and faithful son, for he does the work of the Lord, our brother, bondservants of Jesus Christ, a true son in the faith)

2 Timothy 4:13-Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come—and the books, especially the parchments.

There was nothing that Paul asked Timothy to do that was an in convince, or to much trouble, or beneath him, Timothy had a servant’s heart!

It should be that nothing asked of us no matter what it is, should be beneath our dignity to perform for the Glory of Lord!

How can you tell if you’re a real servant?….By the way you feel when someone treats you like one!
