Heart Surgeon !

Mathew 27:19 “While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him."

Though I had read the book of Mathews several times, but interestingly I was brought to a sudden halt this time when I read the above scripture. When none of the other gospel writers do not mention about Pilate’s wife’s dream, yet Mathew chose to mention it. What’s so important about it ?

Observe, it was not just a disturbance in the dream where you wake up, vaguely remember the dream and then go back to bed and forget it. But she says “I have suffered much...” How I wish she has spoken something more on this! In the Bible, we have seen God speaking to many people through dreams. I remember once God vividly show the wicked life of a girl who attends our meeting, when I called her the next day and inquired, she confessed the truth. God had particularly revealed the fact to me so that I could warn her and correct her. I had received such divine instructions many times in my life. Not all dreams are messages from God though. Caveat!

Friend, I am not here to do a research on dreams, but I am excited about the fact that God chose to speak to a non-Jewish woman –– the wife of the Roman governor! She says, “Have nothing to do with that just Man” and further says, “ I have suffered many things”. God had made an everlasting impact on her about Jesus through the dream. Now, after the actual crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I wonder how she would have reacted! She would have screamed, “I told you he is no ordinary man and He is innocent !.” Many in the city would have been piqued and confused after the death of Jesus but not this woman because she got the message directly from God. Another is in verse 54, also in chapter 27, as Jesus dies, the Roman centurion declares “Truly this was the Son of God.” Though there were many people around the cross, yet this man gets the truth. God spoke and revealed Himself to these hard-hearted Romans! Amazing!

Friend, trust God to speak to the hard hearted people in your life. A woman whose husband was running behind another woman called me in a state of frustration and asked, ”would my husband ever change?” My answer was, “Yes, he would!” I believe he told her categorically that he would not change his ways. I counseled her to trust Jesus to do the talking. Just one appearance and a word from Jesus for this wicked man in a dream would send shivers up his spine. When we cease from taking judgment into our hands, then God can fight our battle. May be your boss is tough on you, may be your colleagues are hard on you because of your faith in Jesus, may be there are tough nuts to crack in your life and you wonder, “can I ever get a break through?” Yes, you can!

Friend, what many people could not do in my life, Jesus achieved in a second through His everlasting love and embrace. Jesus specializes in treating the Hard Hearts, leave them to Him. HE IS THE BEST HEART SURGEON !
