Mark 11:23

"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (IN YOUR HEART) that you have received it, and it will be yours.

What does it mean to believe with your heart?

# 1 main thing: It is not your head.

Romans 2:28

A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.

What happens is that your heart knows things ONLY BY THE SPIRIT.

That’s the DIFFERENCE.

Your HEAD does NOT know things by the spirit.

It only knows things by what it receives through the 5 senses.

John 4:24

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth”

We cannot commune God with our 5 senses.

We can commune with God by using our spirit.

God is just as real a person as you and me, except he DOESN’T have a physical body.

Jeremiah 24:7

I will give them a heart (a spirit) to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart (that knows me through their spirit).

God didn’t want just a PHYSICAL RETURN.

He wanted ALL OF THEM, BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT.

But ESPECIALLY THEIR SPIRITS.

Cause that is the part we have to use in order to KNOW GOD.

Ephesians 1:18

I pray that the eyes of your heart (by the spirit) may be enlightened in order that 1) you may know the hope to which he has called you, 2) (you may know) the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

2nd Kings 6:15

When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. "Oh, my lord, what shall we do?" the servant asked. "Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Open the eyes of HIS HEART.

His spiritual eyes.

Why couldn’t he see all of those chariots with his natural eyes?

Because all he could see were all of the enemies chariots!!!

He didn’t believe with his heart like Elisha did.

He believed with his mind that day.

With his natural eyes.

His emotions.

His thinking.

What do you use to see with?

Your mind or your heart?

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all your heart (by the Spirit) and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes…

Because if you are wise IN YOUR OWN EYES, you WILL BE limited!

Over 30 years ago, my wife stood waiting for me to become a godly man because her SPIRIT BELIEVED.

How did she get to the point where she could believe with her heart?

She got to know God.

To know a person we must be on speaking terms with them.

Well, how do you speak to a spirit?

With your natural mind?

No.

With your spirit.

Psalms 18:1

I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me. The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

How does he know all of this about God?

This is the guy who killed Goliath.

You think you can look at a giant like that with natural eyes and win?

2nd Corinthians 2:14

The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them (WITH HIS NATURAL MIND), because they are spiritually discerned.
