Summary: HEART FAILURE LEADS TO DISOBEDIENCE.

HEART FAILURE

OBSERVATION: PSALMS 95 ADDRESSES A CALL TO WORSHIP AND OBEDIENCE.

INTERPRETATION: PSALMS 95:8 (THE BOOK) THE LORD SAYS, “DON’T HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS ISRAEL DID AT MERIBAH, AS THEY DID AT MASSAH IN THE WILDERNESS.

POINTS TO PONDER:

THE WORD REBELLION (MERIBAH) MEANS QUARRELING, CHIDING AND STRIFE. ISRAEL’S JOURNEY TO THE PROMISED LAND IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO. THEY GRUMBLED, GRIPED, DISOBEYED AND COMPLAINED. THEIR BEHAVIORS WERE COSTLY! THEY WANDERED FOR FORTY YEARS. THE YOUNGER GENERATION ENTERED INTO THE PROMISED LAND. THE OLDER GENERATION DIED IN THE WILDERNESS INCLUDING MOSES: THEY CUT THEMSELVES OFF FROM GOD’S INHERITANCE!

DISOBEDIENCE AND NEGLECT TO GOD’S DIRECTIVES PRODUCES A HARDENING OF YOUR HEART. THE HARDENING CAN LEAD TO PROCRASTINATION, WHICH CAN LEAD TO CALAMITY!

PEOPLE MIGHT CLAIM TO BELONG TO GOD BUT THEIR DISOBEDIENCE MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO ENJOY THEIR INHERITANCE.

APPLICATION: HEART FAILURE LEADS TO UNFORTUNATE CONSEQUENCES. GOD DID NOT ALLOW MOSES TO ENTER THE PROMISED

LAND BECAUSE OF HIS DISOBEDIENCE. HE WAS TO SPEAK TO A SPECIFIC ROCK TO BRING FORTH WATER. OUT OF ANGER, HE STRUCK THE ROCK (NUMBERS 20:8-13).
