Today we will talk about the Word of God vs Satan and the seeds that are sown by both.

BIBLICAL REFERENCES: Matthew 4:4; 8:8,16;12:36; 13:9,

In this day and age it is even harder to distinguish the truth from a lie, because the lies use the truth. As a Christian or one who is lost and trying to find their way it becomes a very diffcult road in search

of what is true and what is not. The Bible is the "truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth" of God. Man has twisted God’s Word so much that the Truth of God gets lost in man’s Ideology and perception of what God is saying. So how do we deal with that and distinguish what is of God and what is not? The answer is Read the word of God yourselves

and seek the truth.

"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." We can not survive and enter into The Lord’s kingdom or have the power to overcome that which is evil if we do not eat of the Word of God in our spirit. What does that mean? I simply means that we must fill our spirits with the Word of God and be nourished by it. That is the "eating

of the Word of God" If we only eat bread to nourish our bodies, what happens to our souls(spirits) that God gave us? we will get into that in a moment.

The answer is Faith. Look at what the Book of Matthew says about a centurion that approached Jesus because one of his servants was gravely ill. "The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou

shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed." Jesus said in verse 10, "Verily, I say unto you I have not found so great faith, no, nt in Israel." and Jesus sent the centurion his way telling him that it would be done." Faith is the most inportant element there is in overcoming adversity, temptation and all that is of satan.

What happens to our Spirits if they are not nourished with the word of God? take a look at what Matthew says.

"When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall

speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. And when one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he that received seed by the wayside. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly."

If we are not washed in the blood of Jesus and have received salvation, our spirits are open to attack by satan and his minions. Peter was saved, so why did satan enter into him and cause him to deny the Lord?

Because peter had temporarily lost his Faith! He thought that Jesus would live on and rule Jerusalem and when that didn’t happen, he doubted all he had heard from Jesus and though that perhaps Jesus wasn’t really the Messiah after all. He though that if he was the True Messiah, He would have raised up an army of angels to protect himself; but he didn’t. That was all the opening that Satan needed and he jumped at it.

On when Peter realized what he had done did he weep bitterly and ask the Lord to forgive him and satan was removed.

Before that had even occured Jesus had warned them that there would be the seeds of truth cast by the wayside and the devil would be there to grab them and keep them from taking root. Satan is of the world and all it’s wealth and power, greed and glory; while Jesus was of Heaven and all it Forgiveness, righteousness and Mercy. Satan couldn’t have that!

he was jealous of God in the first place and the more he could take from God the happier he was and still is. You see, those who chose to believe the idle words that men speak and ignore the truth, leave them open to
