Proverbs 4:20-23

20My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

The word of God, the bible says, is life unto those that find them, and health to all of their flesh.

Job said, I have esteemed your words more than my necessary food.

David wrote, thy word o Lord, is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my pathway.

Peter said, the flower may fade, and the grass shall wither, but the word of the Lord shall stand forever.

Here Solomon said, that the words of God are life, and health. Or literally, that the words of God bring healing to your body, and give you eternal life.

It was with a word, that God spoke the entire creation into existence. And God said, let their be light. And God said let their be a firmament. God said let the waters be gathered together. And God said, let the earth bring forth grass. And God said let the waters bring forth abundantly. And God said let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over all the earth, and all that dwells within.

Its in his word. And God said.

My son, attend to my words, incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes, and keep them in the midst of your heart.

God told Joshua-This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therin. For then shall thou make your way prosperous, for then shall you have good success.

You may find a way to have temporary success in this earth, but the only way that we will ever have what the bible considers to be good success, is when we observe to do all that is written within the covers of his word.

2 Tim. 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Its in studying the word of God that we show ourselves approved unto God. It is not our head knowledge of Gods word that shows us approved, but the faith that we gain in studying his word.

It is faith that pleases God. Not our degrees, not our diplomas, nor our suits, but it is faith that pleases God. And the bible says that Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Faith does not come from anywhere other than the uncompromising, unadulterated, all powerful, all sufficient, ever living word of God.

Paul told Timothy to study, so that he would not miss out on the blessings that are available unto him. He said, I want you to know Gods word, so that you will know what it is that is available to you.

We have to know our rights, and the promises that God made to us.

The bible declares that God has put his name above all things, and his word above his name.

It also tells us that God is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man that he should repent. Gods word is true, from the beginning to the end.

If there is one thing that our God can not do, that is tell a lie. He can’t lie, and he can’t fail. There are many blessings that come from the word of God.

Dt. 28: 1And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. 3Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. 6Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. 7The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 8The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
