Healing in the Last Days Part II January 20, 2013
Healing in the last days we must have the confident humility of a John Wimber. (Pray knowing that YHWH is our God and He does all the work.)
1 As we pray there are 4 secrets you should know about healing that empowers you as you pray for others to receive the blessing of Biblical health.
a Have a passionate faith
aa 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; Prov 3:5 (NKJV)
bb We are not called to trust God a little bit, but with our whole being, completely.
b Have a purposeful walk
aa 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Prov 3:6 (NKJV)
bb Once you completely trust Him, you must know He’ll guide your way. (Guidance isn’t enough)
cc IL. GPS can guide you to Peoria, but if you don’t drive / go forward.... you won’t get there!
dd He will guide you where to walk, but you must choose to walk.
c Have a godly life
aa 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. Prov 3:7 (NKJV)
bb This text is a reverse of ps. 1.1, which shoes a progression of how one becomes backslidden.
1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; Psalms 1:1 (NKJV)
cc We are to consciously leave behind sins of the past - departing from evil is following the path that God has illuminated for you.
d Have a generous life
aa 9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. Prov 3:9-10 (NKJV)
bb As servants of Christ, we are Heaven’s ambassadors in a foreign land.
cc In movies, foreign ambassadors / diplomats have diplomatic immunity.(Given safe passage, not susceptible to lawsuits or prosecution under the host country’s laws, don’t have to surrender property from their host home nation.)
dd As ambassadors for Christ, we DO NOT HAVE TO SURRENDER our healthy inheritance for what the world is suffering with.
ee We are protected / given safe passage from disease & illness. - Our kingdom gives us diplomatic immunity.
2 6 Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. 7 And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return, and will rebuild those places as at the first. 8 I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me. 9 Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.' 10 "Thus says the Lord: 'Again there shall be heard in this place--of which you say, "It is desolate, without man and without beast"--in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast, Jer 33:6-10 (NKJV)
a Notice God promises us 5 things in these verses...
aa Healing
bb Revelation
cc Deliverance
dd Cleansing
ee Prosperity
b The end result is health, strength, & long life
8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. Prov 3:8 (NKJV)
11 For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. Prov 9:11 (NKJV)
I Some facts about healing
1 The bible does not distinguish between healing through medicine & ministry
a 7 In that region there was an estate of the leading citizen of the island, whose name was Publius, who received us and entertained us courteously for three days. 8 And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him. 9 So when this was done, the rest of those on the island who had diseases also came and were healed. Acts 28:7-9 (NKJV)
aa Paul & Luke were both there @ Malta
bb “healed” is therapeuo - means that both medicinal & miraculous healing took place at Malta
b Both were used by God
2 Sickness is not always healed (or on our time table)
