This sermon introduction discusses the prophetic predictions of Isaiah about the Messiah's betrayal, silence during accusation, and being counted among criminals, leading up to the depiction of Jesus as a lamb led to slaughter.
For the past 3 weeks we’ve been walking through the story of the hours leading up to Jesus’ resurrection – incidents that were predicted by the prophet Isaiah, 700 years before they happened.
Isaiah predicted that the Messiah would be betrayed by friends, remain silent while accused, and be counted among criminals. Today we’re going to see Him become sheep-like, as Isaiah says “He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.”
Are you ready to do some learning? Pray with me: Lord Jesus, speak to me. Amen!
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter… Isaiah 53:1-7a
