Judges 16:16-21
(16) And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;
(17) That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.
(18) And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.
(19) And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
(20) And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.
(21) But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.
Delilah got his heart before she ever got his hair!
Every sin is a manifestation of our heart!
1. He’ll Press You Daily
Vs. 6 - And Delilah said
Vs. 10 - And Delilah said
Vs. 15 - And she said
She constantly bothered him. Always on his back.
Judges 16:16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;
The Christian needs to fight sin, the world and the devil in the power of the Holy Spirit to get victory.
He fought her every day, but one day he let his guard down and she won the final victory.
Ephesians 6:10-12
(10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
(11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
2. He’ll Patiently Wait On You
Verses 6, 10, 13 and then finally in 17 he told all!
She waited and waited and waited and finally after the lies and games were played he gave in!
1 Corinthians 15:57-58
(57) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
(58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Peter 5:8-10
(8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
(9) Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
(10) But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
Genesis 39
Vs.11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business…
Vs. 12 …he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.
You will lose some things in this life if you decide to stand
for Christ and forsake the world!
