He's Already There

Summary: poem taken from Hebrews 4:14-16
He’s Already There
Is heaven mine or should I struggle each and every day
To believe that I will make it
And that Jesus is the way
That maybe something’s missing
And some things must still be done
That life is now a futile race
That never can be won.
That my faith will somehow leave me
Someday short of heaven’s throne
That grace is not sufficient
to help one saint make it home
should I believe the skeptics
and the scoffers all around
in the race that I am running
will eternity be found?
The answer is seen higher
Where I cast my every care
As I look into the glory
I see He’s already there
The first fruit of believers
The lion has prevailed
I clearly see the blessing
For the lamb tore down the veil.
I boldly now can enter
For His blood has made the way
For the entrance to the city
Where all sin’s been washed away
Where the streets are named redemption
Where the Son will be the light
In the place of no more sorrow
In the land of no more night.
So if you get discouraged
And you feel like giving in
To the world that fights against you
Or the heavy weight of sin
Lay it all upon the altar
And stand boldly to declare
My faith is firm
For I have seen
That He’s already there.
