"He'll Give You Power”
Contributed by Timothy Proctor Sr. D. Min on Mar 15, 2002 (message contributor)
Summary: Whenever you face trials and problem, don’t try to work it out yourself, give it to Jesus, and He’ll work it out for you. He said He’ll give you power!
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become, the Son of God, even to them that believe on his name.
1. First you have to receive God; in order to receive God, the Bible said be changed or transformed. How many people know that we still have some changing to do? He tells you in Rom.12:2, “be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of mind”, its new ideals and its new attuides, so you may prove yourself what is good and what is acceptable and perfect will of God, even the things witch is good and acceptable and perfect in his site for you.
The Bible said, there can be no change if you don’t affect your mind, the Bible said there could be no transformation without renewing your mind with the Word. So what ever you are trying to receive or what ever you are trying to change must start with the
renewing of your mind. I don’t care if it is Drugs, Alcohol, Men, Women, or what ever it is you find yourself doing. Sometime I don’t think we really want to God’s Power, but we always want to tell people how to get over their problems, and we don’t have the
Power to get out of our own situation.
We call our self laying hands on someone when they need prayer, but we can’t heal our
own cold. We need Power, not just any power, but Power from God. The Bible said in 1 Peter 3:15, “to sanctify the Lord God in your heart”, how are you going to tell somebody something, if you don’t have God in you. Oh, He’ll Give You Power.
2. My second point is; you must believe God, you must not let Satan run loose in your mind, because he would tell you, that you are not going to make it, and if he can get your mind off of Jesus, he no, you will have No Power. The Bible said “let this mind in me, be also in you”, so you have to tell him that he is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
You got to believe God for everything, O he’s my Source, he’s my Strength, and he’s my Refuge. I take my problems to Him, I heard someone say “cast your care upon Him, for He cares”. John 14:1 said, “let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me”, He’ll Give You Power.
3. Then he’ll give you Power, meaning, He gave them the right, the privilege, the authority, and the ability. He who is made a child of God enjoys the greatest privilege which the Divine Being can confer on this side of eternity. Those who accept Jesus Christ, is offered through His blood, a right to this Sonship; for by that sacrifice this blessing was
purchased; and the fullest promises of God confirm it to all who believe.
THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES POWER TO WITNESS
Acts 1:8 – “But ye shall receive Power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; (Somebody say Power). You must believe that he will bring you out of your problems, he’ll bring you out of your dilemma. When it seem like no one cares, He’ll Give You Power, when your back is up against the wall, He’ll Give You Power, when your down and out, and they think you’re out for the count, Oh won’t He’ll Give You Power.
When Satan lift up his ugly head and you don’t see no way out, “Just look to the hills, for which cometh your help, Oh He’ll Give You Power. Won’t he give you power, won’t he give you power, if you know he’ll give you power, “Let me hear you say yeah, say yeah.
CLOSING: The Power of God is not like some Coat that you can just put on or take off at will, or when It is needed. It is with us all the time, my question to you is, what have you done with the Power of God latterly? AMEN!
