Before you sit down, say good morning to your brothers and sisters.

Today's message is "He is More Than Able – Patience in His Promise"

Turn with in your Bibles to Ephesians 3:20-21 and say, "Amen" when you are there.

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

Today, we are reminded of the powerful truth that God is more than able. Whatever your circumstances are, however, big or small your challenges may seem, know this: God is able to do more than you could ever ask or imagine.

But here's the key: In His timing. While His power is limitless, we must practice patience as we wait for His promises to unfold in our lives.

Point 1: God’s Power is Immeasurable

In the verse we just read, Paul speaks of a God who is able to do "immeasurably more" than anything we can ask or imagine. The God who created the heavens and the earth, who parted the Red Sea, who raised the dead, and who fed thousands with a few loaves of bread and fish is the same God who is at work in your life today. His power is not just sufficient—it is more than enough.

Consider the story of the Israelites in the wilderness. They had been slaves in Egypt for over 400 years. God promised to deliver them to the Promised Land, but their journey was long and filled with trials. In the face of hardship, they doubted God’s ability to provide for them. But despite their struggles, God remained faithful, and He did immeasurably more than they could have asked or imagined. He parted the Red Sea, provided manna from heaven, and gave them water from a rock. Their journey took longer than they expected, but God’s promise was fulfilled.

Point 2: The Role of Patience in Waiting for God's Promises

While God's ability is beyond our comprehension, our responsibility is to trust and wait. Waiting on God's timing is hard, but it’s in the waiting that our faith grows. We often get impatient when we don’t see immediate results, but God’s plan is always perfect. Remember that He is more than able to meet your needs and fulfill His promises—but He asks that you wait patiently on Him.

Illustration:

The story of Abraham and Sarah is another powerful example of waiting. God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, but they were childless well into their old age. Abraham and Sarah tried to take matters into their own hands, but it was when they learned to trust in God’s timing that Isaac, the promised child, was born. It was a miracle that only God could perform, and in His time, He was more than able to fulfill His promise.

Point 3: Trusting in God’s Power and Patience in Our Lives

We all face challenges, and it can sometimes feel like God is silent or distant. But we are reminded that even in those moments, He is at work. His power is actively working in our lives, even when we can’t see it. Trusting in His ability to move mountains requires patience, knowing that He is faithful to complete what He has started.

Personal Story:

I remember a time in my own life when I was waiting for God to move in a particular situation. I had been praying for a breakthrough for what seemed like an eternity, and I was beginning to lose heart. But during that waiting period, I experienced a deepening of my relationship with God. I learned to rely on Him more, trust Him more, and seek His will above my own.

Eventually, the breakthrough came—not according to my timeline, but according to

His perfect plan.

Altar Call for Prayer and Salvation:

Now, I want to extend an invitation. If you are here today and you have never placed your trust in Jesus, the One who is more than able to save, I want to invite you to make that decision. There is no problem too great, no burden too heavy, and no sin too deep for God to forgive. He is able to make all things new, and He is waiting with open arms.
