“He is Lord”

Introduction:

Review by re-reading Phil 2.1-8.

Read today’s text.

I. God has Highly Exalted Him – v.9.

A. Because of His obedient death on the cross-

*Matt 26.39, 27.33ff.

B. By bestowing on Jesus “the Name” – *Eph

1.19-22.

II. Humanity will Humbly Acknowledge Him – vv.

10-11.

A. Every knee will bow. – *Isa 45.20-23

B. Every tongue will confess. ( Here the Greek

word means to “agree”)

III. Have You Honestly Assessed Him –

A. He is the Savior – *Acts 4.12

B. He is the Lord – *Jas 4.10

Conclusion:

What are the ABC’s of Salvation:

A – Admit that you are a sinner and that you are in need of a Savior. *Rom 3.23, Rom 6.23.

B – Believe that Jesus died to pay for your sins and that He was buried, and that He rose again, and ascended to heaven. *1 Cor 15.1-4, Rom. 4.5

C – Call upon the Name of the Lord, confess that He is Lord and put your faith in Him and His work on the cross for your salvation. *Rom 10.9-13
