He Gave Past The Hurt (Easter 2012)

Ill. A man went on vacation to the Holy Land with his wife and her mother.

While in Israel, the mother-in-law died from a heart attack.

The couple went to a local undertaker, who explained that they could either ship the body home which would cost more than $15,000.00,

or they could bury her right there in the Holy Land for only $1,500.00 The man said, "We’ll ship her home.

"Surprised, the undertaker responded, "Are you sure? That’s an awfully big expense, and we can do a very nice burial here.

"The man said, "Look, 2000 years ago they buried a guy here and three days later He rose from the dead. I just can’t take that chance."

I trust you have your bibles this morning, let’s turn to

John 3:16-18 Msg.

Todays message is entitled;

He Gave Past The Hurt!

16-18. "This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.

As I was thinking about preparing for Easter, the resurrection was at the forefront,

And all it accomplished for mankind, that far to many in the world aren’t even aware of, was at top of the list.

Everything that we enjoy today, every benefit we enjoy from God, we owe to Jesus finished work on Calvary. Amen!

Jesus resurrection was thee most powerful event ever to take place, in the history of the world.

It gave who-so-ever the ability to receive

*everlasting life,

*forgiveness of all sin,

*spiritual wholeness,

*healing,

*prosperity,

*health,

*wisdom,

*understanding,

*patience

and everything else in this life we would ever need to live this life we have been given, abundantly.

Hebrews 10:19-21 MSG.

19-21. So, friends, we can now—without hesitation—walk right up to God, into "the Holy Place." Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The "curtain" into God’s presence is his body.

What had been taken away by the fall of man and the sin that took place in the garden of Eden,

Jesus had restored with the Love that flowed and still flows from Calvary. Thank You Jesus!

John 3:16 NKJ

16. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 316, without a doubt is probably the most widely known verse from the bible in the world today.

And with good reason, because our God, is a merciful God and I don’t believe its no accident, that this powerful verse,

That could make the difference between, someone spending eternity in heaven or hell,

Would be so widespread and known around the globe, so that anyone could grab a hold of it, even if it was with their last breathe.

Even the thief on the cross, realized that it wasn’t to late, asked for forgiveness

and was forgiven his sins that very moment, and went to spend eternity with Jesus that very same day!

Ill. “I love John 3:16 because it is the gospel in a nutshell. It shares God’s great love for us, and our great need for him.”

-Mac Powell, Lead Singer of Third Day

“There it is in black and white. As simple and gentle as 1+1=2. For God so loved the world that He gave His only son and whoever believes in Him shall NOT perish, but shall have everlasting life. That’s it. Admission is free.”

-Delilah, Radio Host

John 3:16. What an amazing scripture—God loved us while we were quite unlovable people. He reached out to us when we were unreachable. Knowing that we would fail Him, deny Him, and spurn this unconditional love, He still gave…unconditionally!”

-Don Moen, Singer/Songwriter

Knowing that we would fail Him, deny Him, and spurn this unconditional love, He still gave…unconditionally!”

Why? Because God loved us, God loved mankind,

Because God loved you, enough to give past the hurt!

It would be the only way, for the reconciliation He longed for with mankind,

So He would be able to share the Grace and Mercy and Goodness,

the world so desperately needed and still so desperately needs today!

God knew better than anyone, the price it was going to cost,
