1. The Story of Jesus Revelation 22:12-21
• He Came, • He Died, • He Arose, • He Ascended, • He will come Again
2. When He Comes Again he is bringing a reward
• Jesus promises in verse 12, “See, I am coming soon; my reward is with me, to repay according to everyone’s work” “To repay.” “Is Jesus sending us a message that getting into heaven may be more about good works?

• Jesus says in verse 12, “I will give to each person according to what they have done” (NIV).

• Our faith should bear fruit As James 2:17 says, “So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.”
• St Fancis of Assisi said, We preach, not with our words but by our deeds.
4. Jesus talks about rewards not just in today reading but other verses as well
• (Matthew 16:27). “For the Son of Man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay everyone for what has been done”
• (2 Corinthians 5:10). “For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body, whether good or evil”
• (2 John 8). “Be on your guard, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but may receive a full reward”
• (Romans 2:6). “For he will repay according to each one’s deeds”
5. Jesus is coming again the question becomes have I done enough?
• 31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, , 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
• Parable of the master who went away entrusted his servants to take care of the property. “Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come” (Mark 13:33-37).

• Parable of the ten virgins: “And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut” (Matt 25:1-13).
• Parable of the talents: “For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away” (Matt 24:14-30).

In the final scenes of the Academy Award-winning 1998 film, Saving Private Ryan, the story shifts from the harrowing days of World War II to a serene cemetery in Normandy, decades later. James Ryan, now an elderly man, stands with his family before the grave of Captain John Miller, who had sacrificed his life to save Ryan during the war. As he reflects on the immense sacrifices made by Miller and his team, Ryan grapples with whether his life has truly honored their memory.
He speaks to the deceased Miller lying in the grave, “My family is with me today. They wanted to come with me. To be honest with you, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel coming back here. Every day I think about what you said to me that day on the bridge. I tried to live my life the best that I could. I hope that was enough. I hope that, at least in your eyes, I’ve earned what all of you have done for me.”
